Looking for a great hotel in Tel Aviv?
Recently, Travel 15’s Sharon Stern stayed at the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv, here she reports back on her experience:
My visit to the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv, was one of the highlights of our recent stay in Israel. Since my husband is Israeli we have traveled extensively in Israel with many visits to many hotels. The Carlton is located in the center of Tel-Aviv, on the beach and very close to the Tel-Aviv business center. The staff at the Carlton was courteous and informative and a pleasure to deal with.
Three generations were traveling since we brought my 17 year old son and my in-laws, and all generations were in agreement that it was the finest hotel we have stayed at in Israel. The Carlton Hotel was elegant without being stuffy, my in-laws found it calm and relaxing, and my son found it fun and enjoyed the design and the proximity to the beach. My husband and I... we loved that everyone was happy.
We had two rooms on the 12th floor and both rooms had amazing views of the Mediterranean and terraces facing the ocean. The rooms were large by any standards but since Israeli hotel rooms tend to be on the small size they were enormous for Israeli standards.
There were two large International meetings going on in the hotel while we were there and I can see why. The hotel is perfect for the business traveler. There is a spacious lovely Business Lounge on the 14th floor with sweeping views of Tel Aviv on one side and the ocean on the other. It is equipped with WIFI, and complimentary food and beverages, free fax and phone for business and loyalty members. The Carlton was nice enough to give me access to this lounge. It is the perfect place to meet with clients and many of the tables were filled with hotel guests having business meetings .The complimentary food was delicious.
Speaking of food, the Carlton’s claim of one of the best breakfast buffets in Israel (award winning) is absolutely true. There was an array of fresh baked breads and pastries salads, and smoked fish, caviar, and fresh vegetables and fruits, an omelet station and some of the freshest best tasting chesses I have ever had. This complimentary breakfast buffet is not to be missed!
There is a rooftop swimming pool and health club available to all guests free of charge, and spa services for an additional fee. The weather was too cold for the pool to be open but we did spend some relaxing time sitting on the rooftop lounge next to the pool enjoying the view of the ocean and the city.
The Lobby Lounge and Espresso Bar served as a relaxing respite in between our bicycle rides on the beach esplanade and our sightseeing and shopping, offering a full menu of food and deserts.
There is a small gelato café just outside the hotel on the Ocean side with the BEST Gelato we have ever had. Well worth the stop!
I highly recommend this 5 star boutique hotel.
